A Dive into Tokyo Solamachi! Ustream Broadcast

On May 22nd, Tokyo Skytree will finally open. As our magazine's editorial office is also located in Sumida Ward, this is hardly an event we can remain indifferent to. Ahead of the opening, OPENERS will participate in a preview of "Tokyo Solamachi," the large-scale commercial facility at the foot of Skytree, held on May 18th (Friday). We will deliver the proceedings via Ustream broadcast.

A New Face of "Shitamachi" Comprising 312 Stores

Tokyo Solamachi, with its concept of "New Shitamachi Style," is a commercial facility featuring 312 stores across various genres including fashion, miscellaneous goods, and dining. It spans the 1st to 7th floors, and the 30th and 31st floors of the building at the foot of Skytree.

In addition to popular shops like Beauty & Youth United Arrows, Urban Research, and Francfranc, it also includes first-time commercial facility appearances by traditional shitamachi establishments such as "Kinsucho Uotora," a long-established fresh fish store in Kinshicho, and "Tsukishima Meibutsu Monja Daruma" in Tsukishima. Solamachi's concept is to leverage elements like craftsmanship and manufacturing that have supported the shitamachi area.

OPENERS will broadcast the preview event on Friday, May 18th, via Ustream. It will begin around 10:30 AM. (※Video may be disrupted due to radio wave conditions at the venue.)
