“You Make The Rule: Reimagining the House” Exhibition
From a large white block shaped like a house, we create spaces for people from the perspective of “YOU MAKE THE RULE.” Digging outwards creates a window, indenting it forms a chair, inserting a pen makes a pen holder, and digging to hold water becomes a bath.──The exhibition showcases unfinished spaces and life scenes where their names are determined by actions. The “You Make The Rule: Reimagining the House” exhibition opens at Shinjuku Park Tower, 3rd floor, at OZONE.

An Attempt to Reconstruct the “House” with People as the Protagonists
The nature of Japanese housing is being forced to change due to diversifying lifestyles, the increase in nuclear families and single-person households, an aging population, and shifts in communication.
This exhibition considers the “value of new housing” based on information from the global trend forecasting company PeclersParis.
What is a house, fundamentally? What are furnishings? Based on these questions, we re-examine the elements and their composition. The perspective is “You Make the Rule.” The people gathered there become the protagonists, adding their touch. We reconstruct the “house” with the aim of making people the protagonists.
By focusing on parts that are usually invisible or hidden, and by allowing opposing elements to coexist, we may find unexpected discoveries. This exhibition attempts to deconstruct the main components of a house, re-examine its contents and actions (life), and reimagine them.
