Spin-off Exhibitions in Asakusa, Talks with Shinichi Nakazawa, Makoto Shiraishi, and Kazunari Hattori

The exhibition “Everything Happens for the First Time,” held at Pola Museum Annex in Ginza from Thursday, December 15, 2011, to Sunday, January 29, 2012, features photographs taken in Fukushima in the spring of 2011, guided by the blooming cherry blossoms.


This exhibition, centered around the new project “Everything Happens for the First Time,” will explore “living photography,” “living words,” and “3.11” through dialogues with people from various fields. It will also trace the path that led to the creation of this project, introducing the current activities of Katsumi Omori.


From Friday, December 16, exhibitions will also be held at two venues in Asakusa: the newly opened alternative space “Gingrich” and the archive of art director Satoru Machiguchi’s design firm, “Match and Company,” which is not usually open to the public. Furthermore, on Tuesday, December 27, a dialogue event will take place with poet Makoto Shiraishi and art director Kazunari Hattori at “Rainy day bookstore & café.” On Friday, January 13, a similar event will be held with anthropologist Shinichi Nakazawa (reservations required for some events).
