Arflex and the World of Contemporary Overglaze Painting
From December 1st (Thursday) to 6th (Tuesday), Arflex Shop Tokyo in Ebisu, Tokyo, will host a collaborative event between Arflex and Ichiro Ishii, a leading figure in overglaze painting.

The Harmony of Ichiro Ishii's Art and Modern Interiors
Ichiro Ishii, who spent 10 years as a painter for the renowned "Flora Danica" at Royal Copenhagen in Denmark, is also recognized in Japan as a master of overglaze painting.
This event showcases his works, which transcend table coordination to reveal new charms within simple, modern interior spaces. New pieces created specifically for this collaboration will also be introduced and available for purchase.
Ichiro Ishii
Born in Yokohama in 1952. Studied abroad in Denmark from 1972. In 1978, became the first Japanese national to join the Flora Danica department at Royal Copenhagen. For the next 10 years, he was involved in the production of Flora Danica, excelling as an overglaze painter. In 1990, he established the porcelain painting school "Scantipps." In 2011, he founded "CRESTIPS," a new company aimed at exploring the diverse possibilities and applications of overglaze painting. Based in studios in Denmark and Tokyo, he continues to teach painting and propose new culinary cultures through original designs.
