A must-see if you have the chance to visit Beijing during the exhibition period!

Following "Tea&Coffee Piazza" in 1983 and "Tea&Coffee Towers" in 2003, Alessi unveils "(Un) Forbidden City," a new meta-project that explores new possibilities in design by combining architectural and industrial design elements.

Under the design direction of Gary Chang, one of the architects who participated in "Tea&Coffee Towers" in 2003, seven Chinese architects, making their industrial design debut, will each design a "tray"—a quintessential item in Alessi's product range—interpreting it in their own way.

The eight works presented in this project, including Gary Chang's, are scheduled to begin production early next year and will be added to the Officina Alessi collection in 2012.
