more trees, a forest conservation organization founded by over 100 musicians and prominent figures including Ryuichi Sakamoto, is dedicated to preserving forests. Currently, while Japan has approximately 25% of its land covered by artificial forests, many areas are losing their forest functions due to insufficient maintenance such as thinning. There are concerns that continued forest degradation could disrupt ecosystems and lead to landslides caused by heavy rainfall.

To address this situation, more trees is undertaking forest regeneration projects both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, they are devising and implementing sustainable business models, such as proposing new uses for thinned timber.

more trees has also launchedthe Great East Japan Earthquakerelief project "LIFE311" to promote the construction of wooden temporary housing for disaster victims. In Sumita Town, Iwate Prefecture, adjacent to areas like Rikuzentakata City and known for its forestry, approximately 100 wooden temporary homes have been built using local timber and by local carpenters, and are already inhabited by those affected by the disaster. Concurrently, they are raising funds through donations and charity events to gather the 300 million yen required for the construction of these 100 homes.

During this tour, participants will stay in homes in Sumita Town, experience tree planting, and engage in volunteer activities in the disaster-stricken areas. They will also visit Rikuzentakata City and Ofunato City, which suffered significant tsunami damage. The travel fee is 44,900 yen, and a portion of this fee will be donated to "LIFE311."

This tour offers an opportunity to connect with more trees' philosophy and contribute to the disaster-stricken areas through volunteer work. As the capacity is limited to 25 participants, early registration is encouraged for those interested.
