The Power of Flowers and People, Full of Playfulness!

This year again, I attended the AIFD (American Institute of Floral Designers) National Symposium in San Francisco. Every year, the attendees gather in a different city around this time, and it feels like a reunion for old friends and colleagues.

Setting aside the serious theme of “contributing to floral design education in America,” the playfulness I mentioned is the reason I participate.

Surrounded by the powerful, almost overwhelming display of flowers each day, I draw energy from the people there, whose passion matches the intensity of the blooms, to recharge for the entire year.

Believing in the Power of Flowers

With the hope for a swift recovery and the restoration of peaceful hearts for all those affected by theGreat East Japan Earthquake, I designed “FLORALUXE Peaceful Heart,” believing in the power of flowers.

Arranged together, the four elements evoke the symbol of peace, the four-leaf clover. At first glance, it appears to hold water, but it's not water—the unexpected element is part of the fun. This visually refreshing arrangement makes for a perfect gift for this hot summer.

A portion of the proceeds from “FLORALUXE Peaceful Heart” will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society as relief funds for the Great East Japan Earthquake.

~ Announcement of TOTO Treasure Seminar ~

This summer, I, Masami Wake, will be holding seminars in four cities (Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, and Fukuoka) at TOTO Kitchen Showrooms. The seminars will cover flower decoration for space production and NY-style table coordination.
