New Value Born from Diverse Trees Found Worldwide

"BOSCO" means "forest" in Italian. The "BOSCO" chairs, which Shigeki Miyamoto, a leading furniture modeler, has been creating for over 30 years, have been expressed in a "uniform design" to highlight the individuality of "wood," such as its varied expressions and the stories it holds.

These chairs, which Miyamoto began creating to understand wood, now number over 200 studies. The exhibition will feature rare wood species that are no longer available.

"seguente," held concurrently, means "continuing on." It is a project that utilizes wood offcuts from the BOSCO production process to create new objects.

Through his "BOSCO" works, created over more than 30 years, Shigeki Miyamoto has gained an intimate understanding of wood species, their handling, quirks, charms, and individualities. By collaborating with Minerva's artisans, various designers, and artists, new works are born that transcend the limitations of a single wood material, embodying a new diversity.

"seguente" is the first installment of a project designed to convey the allure of "wood" to many people, as "what follows BOSCO."

On Saturday, June 11, a talk show will be held with Shigeki Miyamoto and several participating creators.
1st Session | 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Moderator: Hiroto Tanaka / Area Designer, Sociomuse Design)
2nd Session | 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Moderator: Junya Yamamine / Curator, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum)
