A New Store Planned and Realized with the GLOBE SPECS Community

The overall direction and planning for the entrance facade of the relocated GLOBE SPECS Shibuya Store were handled by Sy Chen and the CIA Inc. team.

The painting for the entrance facade sign was created by Koumoriya's Koji Ito and Emiri Yamamiya. The external mural facing Kitaya Park was done by New York-born Peter Martin. The interior mural art was a collaboration with TRNK, an art project unit by two women specializing in exhibition setup and display, primarily for contemporary art, and the art project unit Merry.


Tetsuya Okada, the representative of Globespects, shared, "We found a property with character in the Jinnan district of Shibuya, our long-time base. We've incorporated all the existing, well-loved fixtures, and the new furniture and display units we've added are also either long-used items or made from heavily aged materials. Shibuya, Tokyo, is a place where global trends and cultures converge, influence each other, and give birth to new things. Therefore, rather than aiming for a distinctly Japanese, New York, or London style, we deliberately chose a mixed aesthetic."

The interior is filled with light and greenery, creating a relaxed and comfortable space that seamlessly extends the verdant Kitaya Park just outside. It's a place where one can leisurely choose eyewear that truly satisfies.
