Dior: Unrivaled Creations Bridging Past and Future

The Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture collection by Dior was presented in a special tent at the Rodin Museum, amidst a light drizzle. Inside, the stage was a spaceship-like structure, mirrored and framed in silver.
Minimalist lace mini-dresses were layered with sheer vinyl coats, paired with thigh-high boots in colorful enamel. Sleek, form-fitting all-in-ones with graphical prints offered a futuristic style, as if ready for a journey into space. The collection featured 3D embroidery, sequins, petite tops, and flowing organza dresses with cascading colors. The bar jacket unfurled with effortless freedom.

Next month, following 'Esprit Dior' in Ginza, the film 'Dior and I' will be released. 'I' refers to the current Artistic Director, Raf Simons. This documentary delves into the behind-the-scenes of his debut couture collection. Monsieur Dior himself appears, offering a profound glimpse into the essence of Dior.

She Taught Me Femininity—Stéphanie Coudert

On the final day of the collections, a新人 (newcomer) collection captivated me. Stéphanie Coudert, presenting her second couture collection after transitioning from ready-to-wear. Models walked with unhurried grace in a small circular venue. Her creations, with their seamless construction and sculpted curves that hugged the body, were masterful. It was a form of bodywork I had never witnessed before. She is a designer I long to discuss with at length.
