Expressing "Individuality in Uniformity" Within Orthodoxy

In 1952, Kanewa Hifuku, the predecessor to Johnbull, was founded in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, a major textile and denim hub in Japan. Initially manufacturing workwear, the company later rebranded as Johnbull and began designing and producing casual wear, primarily denim. Their in-house factory still utilizes the "Union Special" sewing machine, capable of handling thick fabrics of 15 ounces or more used in military and workwear. Leveraging the technical expertise accumulated over approximately 60 years of history, they create high-quality items that transcend time.

The "Makerhood Shirt" series, highlighted here, features meticulous patternmaking designed by a patternmaker who has worked with major fashion houses, taking into account the human body's range of motion. It embodies the ideal form for a daily-use shirt, with attention paid to every detail.

The collar area, the shirt's defining feature, employs a specially curved stand collar. It maintains a clean shape without spreading outwards even when unbuttoned, and is designed to sit neatly even when a tie is worn, making it suitable for business settings. Three collar styles are available: regular, button-down, and round.

The length is set at an exquisite point, looking good whether the hem is tucked in or left out. It's designed to minimize movement of the body when the arms are raised and to prevent the hem from easily slipping out of trousers when tucked in. Additionally, the fine filament yarn used in the stitching and the precise, close pitch of the seams are noteworthy details.

All items use the same pattern. The collection includes 12 men's styles and 5 women's styles, offered in various materials. These are basic, easy-to-coordinate shirts that resolve the minor daily stresses felt when wearing a shirt. We encourage you to experience their exceptional comfort firsthand.
