Gentle and Cool, Spring Dresses Swaying in the Meadow
The Spring/Summer 2015 Paris collections were a stunning array of natural, flowing pieces inspired by grass, flowers, and birds. Lace, a classic material, was rendered in cutwork for a touch of understated sweetness, while denim was reimagined with a modern, sophisticated twist.

Dresses Blooming in the Spring Meadow—Dries Van Noten
A small plastic case containing moss arrived. It was the invitation to Dries Van Noten's Spring/Summer 2015 collection. The show venue was carpeted with an oversized meadow rug, specially commissioned from visual artist Alexandra Kehayoglou. The show opened with the sound of birdsong, evoking a fresh morning. Ensembles featured silk prints paired in different patterns, and sheer dresses pieced together with random stripes. All possessed a languid, gentle silhouette. Lame knits and vests added a touch of realism. For the finale, models lay scattered across the meadow. Dries transformed the delicate flowers of the grassland into exquisite dresses.

Light Cutwork Dresses and Lace-Up Sandals—Chloé
Chloé presented minimalist, gently swaying dresses finished with bold cutwork lace. Denim coats and shorts tempered the sweetness, while summer suede jackets and dresses offered a supple feel. The balance between volume and ease was exquisite. The long and short lace-up sandals paired with every look are poised to be a talking point this spring. On the 27th, the day before the show, the brand's founder Gaby Aghion passed away. The image of the free-spirited woman that Gaby championed will undoubtedly be carried forward.

Prints and Appliqués: Stella McCartney Gets More Fashion-Forward
Stella McCartney has taken a decidedly more fashion-forward turn. Graphical cutwork ensembles featured longer tops for a feminine silhouette, while denim was updated with appliqué details. A dress with colorful birds appliquéd onto a print created a bold A-line shape.
