Kate's portrayal of Jacqueline is striking
The "Jackie bag," named after Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's favorite, was revived in the Gucci collection in 2009. Frida Giannini has reinterpreted the brand's iconic bag with a contemporary touch, bringing it back to life as the "Jackie Soft."
Filmed in Rome, the short film tells the story of a chase between a modern muse, Kate Moss, and paparazzi. Her use of the "Jackie Soft" handbag as a shield against camera flashes evokes images of the original muse, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who was frequently photographed by paparazzi while out and about with her beloved Gucci bag.
Creative Director Frida Giannini commented, "She is a trendsetter, an independent woman, and a true icon of our time, living vibrantly in the present. She embodies the Gucci Autumn/Winter collection as a sophisticated woman who dresses for herself, not for others." The director's cut of this film is currently available on Gucci's YouTube channel. Broadcasts on CNN television and online are also planned.
