Sharing Activities Related to Environmental and Human Rights Issues

Building on its 2018 launch, the evolved "Gucci Equilibrium" aims to foster participation and action by uniting and supporting voices from global communities addressing increasingly critical environmental and human rights issues, centered around the two themes of "people" and "planet."

Gucci announced it will connect its existing digital channels with the new "Gucci Equilibrium" Instagram and website, calling upon the engaged and passionate members of the #GucciCommunity.

This community is comprised of individuals united by a shared ambition to confront how we relate to the world and to each other, while maintaining our individual autonomy. The new digital channels will deliver messages from "Gucci Equilibrium's" diverse leaders, organizations, and expert groups, further promoting transformative experiences and ideas for climate action and the creation of a just and equitable world.

Furthermore, aiming for a world where all members of the Gucci Community can freely express their authentic selves, the brand will support talented young individuals poised to lead the fashion industry into a new era through regional foundations and scholarship programs.

Marco Bizzarri, Gucci's President and CEO, commented, "Our utmost priority is to build a more just future that rejects all forms of injustice and discrimination. Our unwavering commitment to confronting current realities, eradicating racism, and fighting for equality is now stronger than ever. As a company, we will continue to focus on creating positive change for people and for the very essence of our business."

To amplify the "Gucci Equilibrium" message, sustainability initiatives will also be visualized across key touchpoints, including Gucci stores worldwide andthe official online shop, and the official Gucci App. The renewed official website provides information on approximately 400 sustainable Gucci products. The new site logo was designed by artist MP5.
Gucci launched its 10-year sustainability initiative, "Culture of Purpose," in 2015, setting a goal to reduce the environmental impact of its offices, stores, warehouses, and entire supply chain by 40% and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by 2025. The company released its 2019 Environmental Profit and Loss account, announcing it is ahead of schedule in achieving these targets.

These achievements stem from improvements in areas with significant impact across the supply chain, including increased use of recycled materials and organic fibers in collections, sourcing of precious metals like jewelry from responsible suppliers including 100% ethical gold, the introduction of programs like "Gucci Scrarpless Leather" and the circularity-promoting "Gucci-Up" to enhance sustainability and efficiency in manufacturing processes, and the transition to green energy, which has resulted in renewable energy usage at shops, offices, warehouses, and factories reaching 83% (with a goal of 100% by the end of 2020).
