A Story of Eternal Life Told Through Beautiful Imagery

teamLab, a venture company that originated at the University of Tokyo, is an ultra-technologist collective comprising specialists from diverse fields. By fusing science, technology, design, and art, they deliver innovative solutions and creations to the business world. Simultaneously, they have garnered significant acclaim in the art scene both domestically and internationally. In the summer of 2014, they held a major solo exhibition at Pace Gallery, a prestigious New York gallery leading the contemporary art scene.

For this exhibition, teamLab, led by Toshiyuki Inoko, will unveil an installation work inspired by flowers for the first time in the world. Projected onto a massive screen, the flowers bloom, scatter, and then sprout anew when a person interacts with them, illustrating the cycle of life. Because the imagery is rendered in real-time by computer programs, it continuously transforms in response to the viewer's actions, ensuring that no two scenes are ever the same.

The beauty of the flowers scattering in unison upon touch, within a space that feels as if one has wandered into a floral world, is breathtaking. Furthermore, during the exhibition period, teamLab's work will also be displayed in the 8-meter-wide window facing Shinjuku Street.
