Showcasing Special Items Designed for the Film
Inside the store, Prada is exhibiting custom-made suitcases and trunks provided for the main characters in 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'.
These were created with inspiration drawn from vintage models released in the 1920s and 1930s. The suitcase designed for 'Madame D.', played by Tilda Swinton, features an oak frame covered in natural-toned Vachetta leather for a vintage effect. The interior is lined with peach-pink satin-cotton. A distinctive touch is the painting of the character's initials, Mdm.C.V.D.u.T (Madame Celine Villeneuve Desgoffe und Taxis), in a classic 1920s style by artist Meek Casal. Also on display is a black Nappa leather coat designed for 'Jopling', played by Willem Dafoe.
Prada continues its partnerships with leading international film directors, spanning across fashion, art, and architecture. The collaboration with Wes Anderson previously resulted in the 2013 short film 'Castello Cavalcanti', marking their latest joint project.
