Scheduled for Release from Late March Next Year at Direct Stores and Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building

This project was sparked when Kansai Yamamoto, who often uses motifs like "tigers" and "dragons," noticed the "tiger" symbol of Onitsuka Tiger at the London flagship store, "Onitsuka Tiger London." This marks the first collaboration between the two.

The shoes featured are Onitsuka Tiger's signature "Mexico 66 Deluxe" and "Mexico Mid Runner Deluxe." They boast colorful and energetic designs created through digital printing, inspired by Kansai Yamamoto's experiences in Papua New Guinea. These designs incorporate primary colors like yellow and green, bird feathers, leopard print, and patchwork patterns from kimonos dating from the Meiji to early Showa periods. Additionally, Kansai Yamamoto appeared in the fashion show wearing shoes made with metallic materials from the "Colorado Eighty-Five AP." Some of the shoes unveiled at this show will be available from late March 2014 at Onitsuka Tiger's direct stores and Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building.

"Fashion in Motion Kansai Yamamoto," held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, was a show that represented the culmination of Kansai Yamamoto's career and a return to his roots. Under the theme "Basara," it expressed the aesthetic sensibilities of clothing depicted in Nanban screens from the Azuchi-Momoyama and Nanboku-cho periods. The collection showcased a fusion of ancient traditions and new Japanese technology.
