Artistic Suits with Vibrant Patterns
The Spring/Summer 2014 fashion season presented a lineup of artistic collections filled with color.
At Chanel, modern art pieces featuring the house's motifs were displayed throughout the Grand Palais venue. Models strode through this setting in pink and blue suits, and printed dresses that mirrored a painter's palette. Their eye makeup stood out, a perfect match for their black bobs.
For Prada, six artists from South America and Mexico were invited to paint women's faces across the venue's walls. The striking images featured passionate women with bold eyebrows, rendered in tropical colors. These "faces of women" were printed on dresses, paired with striped knit vests and underskirts. The elegance, enhanced with a sporty touch, felt refreshingly new.
Lanvin's theme was quite literally "Shine." Luminous materials were pleated to create complex reflections of light. Pink, green, and purple were freely combined with gold. Large heart and star motifs on necklaces added sparkle to everyday items like trench coats and sack dresses.
