Japan's First Store, "FLIGHT 001," Opens
The golden age of air travel, the 1950s and 60s, serves as the source of inspiration.—FLIGHT 001, a New York-based travel concept store offering a wide array of design-forward, functional, and playful travel items, opens its first Japanese location in Harajuku on Thursday, October 10th.

Store Design Evokes the Golden Age of Jet Travel
FLIGHT 001's mission is to inspire travelers and offer them an experience of comfort and style.—The genesis of this retro-modern travel store, designed to satisfy every traveler, began on Air France flight 023, en route between New York and Paris in 1998.
John Sencion and Brad John, who had long lamented the time-consuming nature of travel preparations, met on flight 023. As they shared their dreams in the sky, they conceived of a "travel store as rational as the journey itself," and their dream became a reality.
A key feature of FLIGHT 001 is that its original items are developed based on the principles of "F = FUNCTIONAL," "I = INNOVATIVE," and "T = TRAVEL."
The lineup includes not only bags and luggage essential for travel, but also "in-flight goods" for use during transit, "packing goods" to help organize suitcase contents, "ID goods" such as passport covers and luggage tags, as well as various travel accessories and books and maps related to journeys.
To commemorate the opening of the first Japanese store, customers who spend over 5,250 yen will receive an original novelty gift (while supplies last). Additionally, purchases over 21,000 yen qualify for free shipping. An online store will also launch on the official website on the same day as the Harajuku store opening, with further openings planned for Ikebukuro Parco on October 24th (Thursday) and Tamagawa Takashimaya S・C on November 1st (Friday).
