Introducing Collaboration Scarves with British Artist Damien Hirst
The skull scarf, a signature accessory since its debut in the Spring/Summer 2003 collection, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Celebrating 10 Years of the Skull Scarf
Damien Hirst has a deep connection with skull motifs, notably presenting "For the Love of God" in 2007, an art piece featuring a platinum model of a human skull encrusted with 8,601 diamonds. This shared aesthetic sensibility is likely why Hirst was chosen as the collaboration artist.
For this collaboration, Hirst's "Entomology" series, featuring butterflies, spiders, and other insects rendered in kaleidoscopic geometric shapes, has been reinterpreted and incorporated into the iconic skull motif, resulting in original artwork.
The scarves are crafted from chiffon, pongee, twill, and wool. With only 30 designs available, each in a single color, and no plans for additional production, these are set to be exceptionally rare items. They are exclusively available from Friday, November 15th, at the Alexander McQueen Roppongi Hills store and the scarf boutique corner within the online store. Prices range from ¥59,850 to ¥137,550.
Alongside the scarf launch, exclusive campaign images and a short film for the collection, shot by photographer Sølve Sundsbø, have also been released.
