"Live Broadcast" Your Showdown on Your Facebook Timeline
The smartphone app "GIRL RUNS BOY ~Girls vs. Boys Running Showdown!~" was released alongside the "Nike LunarGlide+ 5," a shoe with excellent cushioning, perfect for both beginner runners just starting out and those aiming to complete a full marathon.
This app utilizes the "Nike+ Running" smartphone app, which can monitor running data (pace, distance, calories burned) in real-time. It aims to boost women's motivation to run by letting them compete with men in terms of distance covered, and to deepen communication through running.
Women can challenge men to a running race at their own pace. The winner is determined by who has accumulated the greater "total distance" in "Nike+ Running" within a set period of one day, three days, or one week.
Furthermore, women participating in the challenge can receive "support" from their friends. Each time the "Support Button" is pressed on the challenge page, 100 meters are added to the woman's cumulative running distance, helping her towards victory.
The right to challenge is exclusively from the woman's side. However, men can also proactively appear on the screen for women selecting challenge partners by making a "Declaration of Waiting Challenge," or they can appeal for a specific woman to send them a challenge by making a "Reverse Nomination," making it a fun way to engage with friends.
To use it, women first authenticate via Facebook to access the user screen, where they can select a character icon with their preferred design. They can also choose a male friend from their Facebook friends list to send a challenge to.
Once a challenge is accepted, the challenge details are displayed on the woman's Facebook timeline at the start. It's like a "live broadcast," where she can build motivation and take on the challenge while receiving support from her friends.
Even female runners who might lose to men in terms of speed or single-run distance have a good chance of winning when competing on "total distance." Use it to improve your fitness, and have a great time with your partner or friends!
