Alber's Power Unleashed
It's Paris Fashion Week. In February, with the cold wind mixed with snow continuing from Milan, we moved from one show venue to another. For the past season, Lanvin has been holding its shows at the École des Beaux-Arts. Last season featured dresses printed with sculptures from the venue. Usually, champagne and exquisite sweets are served at the venue, but this time… hmm, popcorn!?
But the collection was utterly Parisian. With a focus on couture techniques, bias-cut fabric was molded to the body to create form. Houndstooth and glen plaid, classic materials were distorted to create new graphics.
The bijou embellishments covering the bust of the satin dresses featured fun motifs like dragonflies, bees, and butterflies. "We aim to create exquisite ready-to-wear by fully utilizing the finest couture techniques in Paris," says Lanvin.
Message accessories with words like "HAPPY," "PEACE," and "LOVE" accented the simple dresses. A collection full of Parisian dreams. It was a show that fully demonstrated Alber's enduring brilliance.
