A timeless allure embodying both the brand's innovation and tradition

Inspired by an iconic bag launched in 1975, the "Stirrup" bag was presented in the Autumn/Winter 2011-12 collection by Creative Director Frida Giannini. Its distinctive form was achieved through a hard construction, and its glamorous presence added a vibrant touch to the sensual and opulent collection, drawing considerable attention.

The "Stirrup" refers to the stirrup used in horseback riding. The bag's silhouette is inspired by this stirrup, with the accent metal parts representing the spurs attached to the heel of riding boots. It tells the story of the brand's deep connection to the equestrian world, while also creating a new classic that became an icon of the brand through its fresh concept.





A year after the "Stirrup" bag's debut, the new model, named the "Soft Stirrup" bag, appeared in the 2012 Pre-Fall collection. In contrast to its predecessor's hard construction,—it features a soft, deconstructed design. Crafted from fine materials, its contemporary, supple silhouette offers not only universal appeal that complements both casual and elegant styles, but also remarkable practicality for everyday use, especially for those who carry many items. It is available in two sizes: large and medium. The wide gussets and the large opening allow for easy access, and its lightweight nature is a significant advantage. It is also recommended for business settings.





The color palette includes black, light grey, medium brown, deep red brown, cocoa, and marron glacé, offering a range of rich, warm, and feminine hues. The leathers used include washed calfskin, known for its smooth texture and subtle sheen, and seasonal nubuck, as well as precious skins such as python and crocodile. The precious skins are finished with Gucci's traditional hand-craftsmanship, enhancing their luxurious texture. The unique python finish, with its smooth luster and vintage-like appearance, is a testament to Gucci's exceptional craftsmanship.
