A Weekend Brooklyn Flea Market Concept

This year marks Isetan's 130th anniversary. To celebrate, the NY-based brand rag & bone is opening a week-long pop-up store, "THE BROOKLYN GENERAL," on the 3rd floor of Isetan Shinjuku.



The store, inspired by a weekend Brooklyn flea market, offers a diverse range of items, from local curiosities to souvenir shops filled with New York-style graphic tees. Highlights include "New York City Photo Tee & Graphic Tee," featuring prints of New York City captured by designer Marcus Wainwright's personal camera, "GiF Box by Brooklyn Ribbon Fries," a collaboration gift box with Brooklyn Ribbon Fries, a restaurant producer based in Brooklyn, opened in Japan by Kiyo Shinoki, and "BoJle Bouquet by GREEN FINGERS," a bottle bouquet by plant artist Satoshi Kawamoto.

rag & bone, known for its attention to in-store fixtures, also produces some of its store furnishings by hand at a workshop in Brooklyn's Sunset Park. A collection of custom accessories, with every step meticulously handcrafted by artisans at this workshop, will also be available. Additionally, the pop-up will feature temporary tattoo stickers by Alex McWatt, co-founder of the world-renowned Brooklyn-based tattoo studio Three Kings Tattoo, and an Isetan-exclusive preview of products from "Knot & Bow," a Brooklyn specialty store offering modern yet nostalgic gift wrap and paper goods inspired by traditional American school supplies.
