Cara's World of Pure Blue

Karl Lagerfeld has selected Cara Delevingne, a rising young actress, as the face of the Spring/Summer 2016 Eyewear Collection advertising campaign.

Cara Delevingne has appeared in several Chanel shows and has also featured in campaigns for the 2012-13 Cruise Collection, the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter Ready-to-Wear Collection, and the 2014-15 Paris-Salzburg Métiers d'Art Collection. She also played one of the lead roles in the short film "Reincarnation," directed by Karl Lagerfeld.

The campaign, set in a world of pure blue that seems to float in mid-air, showcases not only futuristic masks with laser-cut quilting patterns that appeared on the catwalk, but also the already-announced 2016 Soleil and Bijoux Collections.

Cara is dressed in pieces from the "CHANEL AIRLINES" 2016 Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear Collection, featuring urban and contemporary designs. She pairs a tweed and cotton cap and a tweed jacket with a sleeveless silver top adorned with a grosgrain ribbon bow.

Designs Inspired by Tie-Dye Motifs and Camellias

The Soleil Collection reinterprets Chanel's iconic bi-color element and draws inspiration from tie-dye motifs. The colors of the cat-eye and oval-shaped sunglasses blend exquisitely with the acetate, creating beautiful gradients from black to blue and black to white.

The Bijoux Eyewear Collection, inspired by Chanel's signature camellia motif, features butterfly-shaped sunglasses and cat-eye optical frames lavishly adorned with metal and enamel camellias on the temples.
