From 80s-90s vintage and Japan-exclusive overseas models to 2012 new releases

Oliver Peoples is often associated with acetate frames, but recently they have been gradually expanding their design variations. Mr. Ryōhei Kanzaki of Continuer notes, "The Wellington shape, once popular, has become a staple, especially in classic designs which are a major trend today. We're seeing a new cycle of revival, with rounded Boston shapes, browline styles combining different materials, and a resurgence of metal frames since last year."

Continuer is highlighting Oliver Peoples, a representative brand of classic frames, focusing on eyewear reshaped with a contemporary taste through the trends that have cycled since the brand's inception."

This fair will feature the latest collection released this month, as well as special items including vintage pieces from the brand's early days and exclusive overseas models not available in Japan.





This is the third installment of the vintage collection, which Continuer has regularly offered since 2010. It features highly valuable pieces from the brand's founding era, carefully preserved in Los Angeles. These are rare items inspired by antique frames from the 1920s and 1930s.

The overseas models (L.A. Models), which are not available in Japan, are distributed mainly in the US and Europe. This line features many models with metal components, offering a more delicate and elegant collection. While strongly inheriting the exquisite and graceful vintage aesthetic crafted by American artisans in the 1920s and 30s, they utilize titanium alloy, a material not used in the brand's early days. The designs have also been reshaped for contemporary appeal, resulting in a hybrid finish that fuses the past and present.
