Founded in 1865, STETSON, the premium American hat brand, celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone, pop-up stores will be successively held at FREEMANS SPORTING CLUB – TOKYO, L‘ÉCHOPPE, and FREAK‘S STORE Shibuya.

Hats Woven into American History


STETSON hats, founded in 1865 and once hailed as the epitome of "American Quality," reached their zenith during America's "Roaring Twenties" and "Jazz Age." Amidst the industrial boom from World War I and the expanding consumer market fueled by returning soldiers, STETSON continuously crafted new, fashionable hats. These were favored by Hollywood stars, politicians including presidents, and trend-conscious celebrities enjoying affluent lifestyles.

Today, it remains the quintessential brand for Western hats, enjoying immense popularity among cowboys, and is highly regarded by gentlemen worldwide. In Japan, Emperor Shōwa and Shigeru Yoshida were known to be patrons, and the brand has produced countless masterpieces throughout its history.

The upcoming pop-up stores offer a rare opportunity to experience a range of signature models, from 150th-anniversary special editions to the brand's iconic cowboy hats.

Focus on 150th Anniversary Items


The "Open Crown," a 150th-anniversary item featuring a high crown accented with a wide ribbon, adopts STETSON's traditional open-crown shape, allowing the wearer to mold it to their preferred fit. Crafted from a luxurious camel-blend material, it offers a unique texture due to the camel fibers.

The "Manish," another 150th-anniversary item, is based on STETSON's signature "WHIPPET" model. Made with premium beaver felt, it presents a sophisticated, classic look with its high crown and slender ribbon.
