Avant-Garde Brands Showcase New Challenges
Celine, a brand synonymous with new minimalism. This season, the waist and hips are accentuated with peplums. The waist is cinched with a wide belt, and the flaring peplum sways asymmetrically. The collection features a striking color-blocking of Celine's signature deep green and bordeaux. A bold intarsia knit with a bright red heart motif on white is a standout.
Lanvin presented dresses with square shoulders, enhanced by thick padding. This represents a new silhouette, replacing the petal-like peplums that usually flare from the collar and sleeves. The collection showcases basic colors like gray, white, and beige in solid and two-tone combinations. Large eagle and cross pendants add a striking touch.
Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci featured tuxedo jackets with square shoulders. Dresses with a structured silhouette, created by peplums running horizontally and vertically, also made an appearance. Colors ranged from white, black, and pink to khaki. Delicate fabrics were layered, with satin trimmings creating complex textures. Large silver accessories gleamed.
