DE LA MER is dedicated to ocean conservation. This is because the ocean is where the nutrient-rich sea kelp, used in the development of Crème de la Mer's key ingredient, Miracle Broth™, is cultivated. DE LA MER has a history of consistently harvesting only the tips of the sea kelp to maintain the health of kelp forest ecosystems and protect marine flora for future generations.
The "Crème de la Mer World Ocean Limited Edition," to be released in limited quantities on June 3rd, is in celebration of "World Ocean Day" on June 8th. "World Ocean Day," established in 1992 as a day to "reaffirm the importance of the ocean as a vital ecosystem and to take action to protect its precious habitats and wildlife," was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2009. This further highlights the deep connection between the ocean and DE LA MER.
Globally, DE LA MER has partnered with "Oceana," the world's largest international marine conservation organization (which has over 300,000 members in 150 countries and works to reduce overfishing and protect endangered marine habitats through scientific approaches), donating $200,000. This year, while continuing that partnership,
