"We, Beastie Boys, have received so much love and support from the people of Japan over the years. We wanted to give back and offer support to help the people of Japan recover from the disaster, which led to this charity collaboration."




The charity T-shirt design was handled by Mike Mills, who is also active as a film director and designed Beastie Boys' new album. It features old-school portraits of Beastie Boys with the message "BEASTIE BOYS♡JAPAN."



This item will be available for limited pre-sale starting Saturday, November 5th at 3 PM as part of the fashion event "FASHION'S NIGHT OUT 2011 TOKYO" (http://www.vogue.co.jp/fno/) at BAPEXCLUSIVE™ Aoyama and BAPE STORE® Harajuku. It will then be sold at A BATHING APE® authorized retailers nationwide (no in-store sales in Sendai or Seoul), and all BAPEXCLUSIVE™ stores starting Saturday, November 12th. All proceeds will be donated to CIVIC FORCE.





BEASTIE BOYS

A three-member hip-hop group consisting of Adam Yauch (MCA), Mike Diamond (MIKE D), and Adam Horovitz (ADROCK). They debuted in 1986 with their album "Licensed to Ill," which immediately hit number one in the US. As pioneers of white hip-hop who rewrote history, they are a charismatic group with immense influence. To date, they have released seven original albums, including four US number-one hits, and two greatest hits albums. They have also won three Grammy Awards. Their contribution to fusing hip-hop with alternative culture, including skateboarding, is truly significant. Each member's activities have been remarkably diverse, including running record labels and apparel brands, launching magazines, directing films, and participating in numerous humanitarian charity efforts. With a unique style that allows no imitation, they continue to lead the street scene even after 30 years since their formation. In 2012, their music video for "MAKE SOME NOISE" won the BEST DIRECTION award at the MTV Awards.
