Reebok's 'Beatnik', a 90s Tokyo street style favorite, gets an update with the new 'Beatnik Moc' model.

Reebok has released the "Beatnik Moc," an updated model of the "Beatnik," originally launched in the 1990s as an outdoor sandal. Drawing inspiration from Reebok's archive of outdoor models, the new design enhances both functionality and fashion, available in six colorways to suit hiking or everyday life.

Faithfully recreating the 'slip-on function' and 'center seam construction' for enhanced walkability in a slip-on footwear.

The "Beatnik" gained popularity in Tokyo's 1990s fashion scene due to its unique design, featuring a center seam upper and adjustable straps. At the time, it was not officially distributed and only a small quantity was brought into Japan through parallel imports, contributing to its cult status.
The "Beatnik Moc," an update to the "Beatnik," draws inspiration from Reebok's outdoor model archives to enhance both functionality and fashion. While faithfully recreating the "Beatnik's" signature 'slip-on function' and 'center seam construction,' the updated model uses premium suede and nubuck for the upper. Available in six colorways, including eye-catching combinations like blue x black and gold x black, it has evolved into a style that fits seamlessly into both hiking and daily life. Furthermore, to ensure walkability even in a slip-on design, it incorporates elastic materials that support the ankle and an overlay panel structure for side protection.
The "Beatnik Moc" is available for purchase at the Reebok Online Shop, Reebok Store Shibuya, and Reebok Classic Store Harajuku.
