The project "A TRIBUTE TO KARL LAGERFELD: THE WHITE SHIRTS PROJECT" commemorates Karl Lagerfeld. Seven creators who were close to him have reinterpreted his beloved "white shirt." The collection features unique and striking pieces.

Seven Creators Reinterpret the "White Shirt"

Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of the brand, passed away in February of this year.

A tribute project, "A TRIBUTE TO KARL LAGERFELD: THE WHITE SHIRTS PROJECT," has been launched to honor his achievements.

This project sees friends who were close to him in life reinterpreting the iconic "white shirt" he cherished, each through their own unique sensibility.

By creating new designs, it pays homage to Karl's creativity.

Inspired by Karl's words, "If I were asked what I would have liked to be the creator of, I would say the white shirt. The white shirt is the basis of everything. Everything else follows," many creators have participated in this project.

The lineup includes Carine Roitfeld (Project Curator), Kate Moss (Model), Cara Delevingne (Model), Diane Kruger (Actress), Takashi Murakami (Artist), Tommy Hilfiger (Designer), and Sébastien Jondeau (Karl Lagerfeld's Personal Assistant and Model).

Each of the 77 shirts they have created will be released on September 26, 2019, for 777 Euros (approximately ¥77,777 in Japan). The number 7, Karl Lagerfeld's lucky number, features prominently.

All proceeds will be donated to Sauver la Vie, a charity that funds medical research at Paris Descartes University.

By donating the proceeds to the organization, which Karl himself supported for many years, even designing the logo by hand, the project aims to carry on his legacy.

Carine Roitfeld, the project's curator and fashion editor, as well as Karl Lagerfeld's Style Advisor, commented, "Karl always said, 'When you do something, you need a surprise.' This project is a very creative way to pay tribute to his achievements. I believe Karl would be pleased, as everyone involved greatly enjoyed this project."
