Celebrate the Birth of Jeans with a Personalized Leather Patch

Levi’s® jeans have always played a crucial role as items reflecting the fashion of their time. Levi Strauss, the founder of Levi’s®, and Jacob Davis, a tailor on the American West Coast, obtained a patent on May 20, 1873, for “a method of reinforcing the pockets of garments with rivets,” intended for pioneers. This marked the birth of blue jeans.

On Monday, May 20, 2013, blue jeans celebrated their 140th anniversary. To commemorate this, Levi’s® stores nationwide are offering a limited-time service to order original leather patches, where customers can have their names or messages engraved for free, for those who purchase jeans for ¥11,000 or more. The leather patch will be sewn inside the purchased jeans, making even classic models like the 501® a one-of-a-kind item.

Additionally, during the same period, the Levi’s® Store Shibuya will host a “501® Style Photo Gallery,” showcasing approximately 100 images of 501® styling by celebrities from around the world. Twelve notable Japanese figures, including photographer Keiichi Nitta and dancer Kent Mori, are also participating. Furthermore, special campaigns, such as free shipping on all items and coupon issuance, are being held on the LEVI’S® E-SHOP (http://www.e-levi.jp/).
