Nicola Formichetti, who served as stylist for artists like Lady Gaga and was the Creative Director of the French haute couture house Mugler until April 2013, has been appointed as the new Artistic Director of Diesel. Born in Shizuoka Prefecture and raised in Italy, he has deep ties to Japan, also serving as Fashion Director for Uniqlo. Now, he takes the helm as the "overall commander" of Diesel, a brand that epitomizes lifestyle.

Renzo Rosso, the founder of Diesel, commented, "Nicola and I share the same values, so working together will be incredibly stimulating. Two original planets will collide, generating novel, crazy, and extraordinary ideas. With Nicola's help, we want to break established values and deliver the authentic Diesel to a new generation."

Formichetti, in turn, stated, "I've been influenced by Renzo since the 1990s. When I received the offer, I realized how much Diesel and I have in common." He expressed his ambition to "create a positive, radical transformation."

Moving forward, Formichetti will oversee all aspects of Diesel's main line creative direction, encompassing not only products but also advertising, marketing, and interior design. His creativity will also be immediately apparent in the brand's transformation, the "Diesel Reboot" project, for which the countdown has already begun.
