Tokujin Yoshioka Joins the "Objets Nomades Collection" for the First Time

At "Design Miami 2016," held in Miami, USA, from November 30 to December 4, 2016, Louis Vuitton and Tokujin Yoshioka unveiled their first collaboration, the new "Blossom Stool."

Louis Vuitton develops the "Objets Nomades Collection," a project that creates works inspired by travel, reinterpreting Louis Vuitton's concept of the "Art of Travel" from a unique perspective and fostering encounters between savoir-faire and design.

Yoshioka has now joined the "Objets Nomades Collection" for the first time. He created a symbolic stool inspired by the iconic flower petals of the Louis Vuitton Monogram.

Craftsmanship cultivated through Louis Vuitton's long history. To express this, it is a powerful objet composed of four petal-shaped structural parts made from metal, leather, and wood.

Regarding his participation, Yoshioka commented, "Throughout Louis Vuitton's long history, I have felt its quality of craftsmanship and its artistry. I wanted to challenge myself to express a new journey through time by interpreting Louis Vuitton's philosophy and creating a work that travels through past and future time, using my own expression and methods."

He further stated about the "Blossom Stool," "I always strive to create something that transcends form and function. I considered creating an iconic expression that strongly symbolizes Louis Vuitton's philosophy, and I have created a timeless objet."
