Mr. Maki was appointed as the first Japanese male image model for Emporio Armani in 2010. He will continue to serve as the image model from January to December 2011, marking the first time someone has held the position for two consecutive years. The advertising photos were once again shot by world-renowned fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti, under the direction of Giorgio Armani. Giorgio Armani praised him, saying, "Daisuke Maki is one of Japan's most talented individuals. He is young, strong, and full of energy and vitality. His urban sensibility, style, and good looks are a perfect fit for the Emporio Armani image."
