New Items Arrive in the "Blank Canvas" Series
Fred Perry's "Blank Canvas" project invites emerging London-based artists to express themselves freely on Fred Perry's iconic items, envisioned as a "blank canvas." This time, one of Fred Perry's in-house designers presents new items inspired by "Origami," Japan's traditional art form.

Traditional Origami Art Transforms into a Classic Fred Perry Shirt
The "Origami = Blank Canvas" concept began when one of Fred Perry's in-house designers discovered instructions for making a polo shirt out of origami online.
Upon researching the papers typically used in origami, they found many traditional patterns such as cherry blossoms, polka dots, and fans, which are now featured as prints on the shirts in the Blank Canvas collection.
Ultimately, four types of shirts were designed with the "folds" of origami in mind, and the seams on the origami shirts are aligned with these folds.
For instance, the back of the sleeves feature an extreme raglan shape, reminiscent of a diagonal fold in origami. The plackets on some shirts are constructed using origami folding techniques, with hidden prints applied. These details are crafted to remain as faithful as possible to the "origami art."
