A New Shoe Inspired by the Drapery of Classical Art

Berluti's new "Drapé" shoes are now available at Berluti's directly managed stores and online shop.
The "Drapé" is a new leather shoe inspired by the draped fabrics depicted in classical sculptures, paintings, and drawings. It expresses movement through its curved lines and refined shape. By folding and stitching rounded Venezia leather, the material's texture is highlighted, creating a voluminous effect reminiscent of couture draping.
The "Alessandro Drape," an adaptation of the brand's classic "Alessandro" model, is an eyelet lace-up oxford shoe characterized by a design featuring three layers of leather. Each layer of leather is finished with a Nero Grigio patina, offering subtle contrasts. This blend of black and gray in varying proportions creates depth, with lighter tones near the leather folds, accentuating the draping technique.
In the loafer model based on the "Andy," draped leather is used for the heel cap and toe cap. The color is a dark green gradient inspired by nature and animals, with a unique hue that enhances the shoe's curved shape.
