A Flood of "Never-Before-Seen" John Lobb Designs!
On January 10th, during the "London Collections Men" fashion week, John Lobb unveiled its 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection at the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell, a short distance from central London. The presentation was enveloped in the astonishment and palpable excitement of attendees who witnessed a "never-before-seen John Lobb."

A New John Lobb, Even the Logo is Reimagined
The first change in this collection is the appointment of Paula Gerbase as Artistic Director. She built her career at a Savile Row tailor before launching her own brand, "1205," in 2010. Her expertise lies in prioritizing cut, material, and proportion, while accentuating traditional craftsmanship.
This collection became a presentation that embodied Paula Gerbase's vision of "John Lobb's roots."
The venue was the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell, located a little way from the heart of London. Clerkenwell is a town that hosts design weeks, with many architecture and design firms, making it a currently noteworthy area.
Upon entering the atmospheric building, one is first struck by the redesigned John Lobb logo. Then, a rising mist and dawn, created with dry ice and lighting, greeted visitors at the entrance.
The Scenery John Lobb Saw on His Travels
Paula's focus for her debut collection was on "Who was the founder, John Lobb? Where did he come from, and what did he do?" The inspiration stems from the special journey—an adventure—that a 22-year-old named John Lobb undertook to London in 1851.
Paula reflected on the collection's origins: "I was genuinely moved when I learned about his journey, carrying the boots he made, from his home in Cornwall in southwest England to London, a distance of about 490 kilometers."
What were John Lobb's feelings as he watched the sunrise? What path did he tread?—Sand and moss covered the floor of the corridor leading to the venue, and moss, grass, and sand were used in displays on stands within the space. A large screen showed images captured by Paula herself during her journey from Cornwall to London.
