New Boots from "LAKOTA HOUSE" Crafted with Horween's Chromexcel

The "Tanker Boots" are a special model conceived by LAKOTA and born in 1995. The military last, developed during World War II, was produced for children for a certain period after the war, but then lay dormant in warehouses from the 1980s onwards. Later, the military last was revived in response to the strong requests from "LAKOTA," the Japanese general importer. Today, many select shops place custom orders, and they have come to be known as "TANKER BOOTS" worldwide.

The last used is the military last "379X." It is characterized by hand-sewn stitches, known as hand-sewn stitching. The moccasin stitching, sewn with the last in place, is done without sewing the lining, so the moccasin stitches do not press against the foot when worn. Even skilled artisans can only sew a few pairs a day, so the refined quality is distinct from machine stitching.

While "Tanker Boots" may be a familiar name globally, the Alden-approved specifications are the "379X" last, "hand-sewn stitching" on the upper, and a "plantation crepe sole." As the "379X" is a last exclusively for Japan, they are only available for purchase domestically.

These new Tanker Boots are made from Horween's Chromexcel, the same leather used for their well-known Cordovan. The navy color is new, and this is the first time "Alden" has offered it. Alden navy models haven't been produced for several years, making this a rare find. The moccasin and welt are in a lighter shade, adding an elegant accent.
