Ten People, Ten Orders

John Lobb's "BY REQUEST" is a made-to-order system for ready-to-wear shoes available year-round. During the annual "BY REQUEST Fair," you can select your preferred materials, colors, and soles from John Lobb's proposed styles, and even place orders to revive certain discontinued popular models.

The selection covers styles, materials, colors, soles, and sizes (from 5 to 12), as well as widths (from D to EE). You can choose your preferences from a pre-defined range to create your own coordinated look.

Model "MARSHALL"
(Color: Aubergine, Material: Suede)
The client is a man in his 50s. This is his second BY REQUEST order, and his favorite model is "BRENTWOOD." He aimed for a pair that could be worn with both suits and casual attire, commenting, "The color offered both functionality and a sense of both security and adventure." Ordered at the John Lobb Hilton Plaza store in Osaka.

Model "VALE"
(Color: Deep Red, Material: Lord Calf)
The client is a man in his 50s. This is his third BY REQUEST order, and his favorite model is "LANGTON." He commented, "I envisioned them with relaxed, casual vacation wear or three-piece suits, paired with a Borsalino hat. The silhouette, reminiscent of the 1960s-70s, had a certain allure." Ordered at the John Lobb Hilton Plaza store in Osaka.

Model "CAMBORNE"
(Color: Deep Blue, Material: Misty Calf)
The client is a man in his 30s. This is his first time using BY REQUEST, and he is aiming for the "PHILIP II" model next. He ordered these to pair with his jacket collection, commenting, "They are easy to match with the clothes I already own." Ordered at the John Lobb Iwataya store in Fukuoka.

Model "KILTON"
(Color: New Gold, Material: Museum Calf)
"The customer requested a plain-toe model on the 7000 last in a light brown shade," said a shop staff member. "This is a repeat customer who orders every year. They wanted a lighter shade of brown this time, different from the CHESTNUT they ordered last year." Ordered at the John Lobb Iwataya store in Fukuoka.

Model "DARBY II"
(Color: Parisian Brown, Material: Suede)
"Many of our clients purchase John Lobb shoes overseas, so this was their first order at the Marunouchi store," said a shop staff member. "They ordered the suede 'DARBY II' in size 10.5, a size not commonly stocked in Japanese stores, seeking a model that looked smart yet casual."

Special Offers for the 2014 "BY REQUEST" Fair

For this year's "BY REQUEST" Fair, Japan has specially ordered sample loafers, "LOPEZ", available in five suede colors with natural stitching.

Additionally, for orders of John Lobb's six iconic classic models – "BECKETTS," "CITY II," "PHILIP II," "WILLIAM," "LOPEZ," and "CHAPEL" – you can choose a vibrant red lining and insole, with grey stitching. The insole will feature the "By Request" logo.

Sizes: Available in sizes (5-12) and widths (D-EE) not offered for all models.
Price: Normally a 30% surcharge applies, but it is waived during the fair period.
Delivery: Approximately 6-8 months
