HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO | March Spring: The "Pop-Up Gentleman"

March: Embrace the "Popup Gentleman" (Part 1)
March is the month for light-colored suits in bright hues, paired with vivid, colorful ties. It's about enjoying the color balance of "main color + accent color." As spring collections fully launch, HANKYU MEN'S TOKYO focuses on the evolution of the suit.
Akira Fuji, buyer for the Business Wear division, explains, "Suits are now expanding their scope beyond just business settings, and we've titled this concept 'Popup'—as in, popping out—to reflect that feeling." The 'Popup Gentleman,' who effortlessly wears suits for both work and leisure, expresses individuality through color.

Suits Styled with Creative Flair
This year's menswear evolves from jacket-and-slacks combinations to full suits.──Since last year, suits have been making a comeback as items to express one's career, abilities, or fashion sense. Brands are focusing on their three-piece offerings, but this season's stars are undoubtedly light-colored suits in blues and grays.
"Last spring and summer, we expressed strength with navy suits," says buyer Mr. Fuji. "This year, we're using light-colored suits as a base, incorporating vivid accent colors in the V-zone—the styling's focal point—to express 'styling with high freedom of combination = enjoying suits.'"
On-Style Suggestions for Casually Wearing Suits
Another reason for the suit's resurgence is its evolution into a more "wearable" wardrobe. Mr. Fuji notes, "Previously, casualization meant taking off suits. But with improvements in suit quality—such as beautiful tailoring that follows the body, soft and lightweight imported fabrics, and functional materials like 'Coolmax' for spring and summer—suits have become items that can be worn more casually. We're focusing on the new trend of 'casual mindset without dressing down.'"
Men who previously competed in expressing freedom, taste, and uniqueness with "jacket-slacks" are shifting to suits this spring. It's not just about playfulness or gimmicks; it's about embracing the traditional elements of menswear while wearing light-colored, functional suits and playing with color as the new standard.
For those buying a light-colored suit for the first time, Mr. Fuji advises, "Focus on creating a contrasting V-zone rather than a tone-on-tone coordination. Consider suits with traditional patterns like checks or wide stripes to complete the look."
Imagine your own "Popup Gentleman" and find your personal "new power suit" on the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of HANKYU MEN'S TOKYO.
