A collection that exudes a clear atmosphere while retaining its sharpness.
Introducing a new line of three-piece suits.
This season, designer Mr. Hajime Matsumoto says, "We are developing a collection that newly constructs compositions of patterns, colors, and materials to evolve life clothing." We want to focus on the styling of "ato," which is based on the concept of creating new clothes that view the body as a symbol of individuality.

—What is the theme/concept of the 2014 Spring/Summer collection?
ato's 2014 Spring/Summer collection is developed with compositions of patterns, colors, and materials newly constructed to evolve life clothing. We propose a new line of three-piece suits, each in a different fabric, creating a collection that exudes the slow, clear atmosphere of the West Coast while retaining its sharpness.
—What are the differences in styling, silhouette, and color compared to last year's Spring/Summer collection?
For the tops (jackets, cut-and-sew, shirts), we have slightly increased the shoulder width compared to before. For the bottoms, we propose a 9/10 length balance. We are basically proposing styling with jacket-based setups, but by incorporating sporty elements through the use of materials and accent neon colors, we have created a relaxed atmosphere throughout the collection.
—What are the key looks (coordinates) this season?
We propose three-piece suits in different materials for the first half (looks 1-5) and the second half (looks 19-24) of the collection.
Pursuing timeless mode wear that can become a staple.
—What are the key items and key colors?
Navy and gray. And as accent colors, pink and yellow.
While centering on navy and gray, which are the base for menswear, we add minimalism with neon color piping.
—What "materials" did you focus on this season?
Wool materials. We propose them with consideration for whether they have permanence for ato, in terms of color, luster, and lightness.
—What are you paying attention to in the current fashion scene?
Timeless mode wear that can become a staple.
