MEN’S COLLECTION STYLE BOOK SPRING SUMMER 2014

New Collection Captivating with Spring's Textures

For Spring/Summer 2014,Margaret Howellthe men's collection is largely characterized by its use of natural fabrics like cotton and linen, which evoke texture, all based on previous archive collections.
A shift from last year's Spring/Summer theme of "Light Feeling," the new approach refines the "dense textures" of materials, brought to the forefront, through design and silhouette.

Tone-on-Tone Styling Exudes Fresh Transparency

This season's styling highlights the combination of short-length tops and wide-silhouette trousers, lending an elegant air to masculine looks. In terms of color, tone-on-tone, single-color compositions dominate, with gradients of grey and ecru (natural unbleached) forming the base, accented by "tobacco," an orange, and blue as key colors.

Focus on the First Look of the Spring/Summer Collection Runway

The collection's signature item this season is a hooded coat incorporating workwear details. While the basic styling color palette is tone-on-tone, blue shirts are also one of this season's base colors. Even a grey shirt offers a fresh take.
The hooded coat, with its slightly oversized silhouette and military feel, offers a relaxed drape while its tightly woven fabric adds a clean impression.
