Early Oliver Peoples Collection
Continuer, the eyewear boutique in Ebisu, has received a shipment of Oliver Peoples metal, acetate, and combination frames, carefully preserved in Los Angeles. This is a rare opportunity to acquire pieces from the brand's founding year, 1987, in excellent condition.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind and highly collectible.
This collection features models that were popular in America from the very beginning of Oliver Peoples, models that were essential to its subsequent global expansion, and "Asia models." These pieces reflect a purer, more creative vision, with less emphasis on marketing. They are exquisite creations inspired by antique frames from the 1920s and 30s.
The intricate metalwork, in particular, showcases a beauty that is difficult to replicate today. The development of a single component could take over two years, with production sometimes outsourced to factories outside the eyewear industry if they couldn't be made in-house. This dedication reveals an uncompromising commitment to quality.
The plating, often palladium at the time, was applied with a greater thickness than usual by Oliver Peoples, resulting in a lustrous, deep sheen that speaks of its luxurious finish.
While alloy was the primary material then, its superior workability compared to today's titanium allowed for delicate engraving, elevating the overall elegance of the frames.
Frame prices range from ¥31,500 to ¥56,700.
