Nijiiro Seven
By the calendar, spring is just around the corner. This time, we're focusing on colorful rainbow items that seem to herald the season. The vibrant hues not only lift the spirits but also evoke a sense of peace and freedom.

vol.37 Nijiiro Seven [Rainbow Colors]
YusukeWith only a few dozen days left in the Heisei era, a new season is fast approaching. Lately, I've been feeling a desire for a bit of peace as spring nears, which led me to choose 'rainbow' items for this feature.
Fashion always sends a message that reflects the times. This spring and summer, many collections are embracing themes like 'love and peace' and 'diversity,' and I find myself drawn to colorful rainbow hues.
I find the prominence of yellow particularly interesting; I'm wearing yellow sneakers today myself. It's quite something—in my 30 years as a stylist, I don't think yellow has ever been this trendy in menswear. It's said to be a lucky color in Feng Shui, and the 'Five Yellow Earth Star' is associated with the strength of the earth. Perhaps my attraction to yellow, symbolizing Mother Nature, stems from such a background.
Rainbow colors also symbolize genderlessness and freedom. Even those who must wear suits for work should embrace a sense of freedom this spring by incorporating rainbow items into their wardrobe. What does freedom mean to me? ... Perhaps it's a quick dip in a sauna between work sessions (laughs).
