Vol. 32: Chunky Turtleneck Sweaters

YusukeI love turtleneck sweaters and have been wearing them regardless of trends. I particularly love fine-gauge ones so much that I wear them year-round. About three years ago, when they weren't particularly popular, it was really difficult to find ones I liked.

And now, time has passed, and this year, there's a sign of a turtleneck sweater boom. With the colder weather setting in November, I've felt the urge to try out some warm, low-gauge turtleneck sweaters.

I'm looking for sweaters with a voluminous neck that look stylish even when worn on their own. The Tom Ford turtleneck sweater worn on the top page is exactly the kind of item I envision – its neck is high, the knit is thick, and it fits snugly around the neck. It has the presence of outerwear and is visually striking, embodying Tom Ford's aesthetic for turtleneck sweaters.

As the weather gets colder, fine-gauge knits might not be warm enough. I want to stay even warmer with a chunky turtleneck sweater that pairs well with voluminous outerwear.
