2013 "BY REQUEST" Fair: Bespoke Orders Begin at John Lobb Boutiques!

With the motto "HOW TO PERSONALISE YOUR JOHN LOBB," the currently ongoingJohn Lobb'BY REQUEST' Fair is being held at John Lobb boutiques and other locations from Friday, March 29th to Tuesday, April 23rd. Normally, 'BY REQUEST' orders incur a 30% surcharge on the retail price, but during the fair period, orders can be placed without this additional charge.

John Lobb's 'BY REQUEST' service allows for pattern customization of ready-to-wear shoes. You can select the style, leather & color, sole, and width (foot circumference) from a pre-defined range, creating a pair that perfectly matches your preferences.

'BY REQUEST' allows you to combine your preferences to create a highly original pair, even though it's based on ready-to-wear models. To inspire your own creation, we're exclusively showcasing the 'favorites' of four John Lobb staff members.

I wanted to imbue John Lobb's traditional style with new charm by applying leathers with layered dyeing techniques, such as Museum or Misty, so I placed this order.

I wanted a casual boot with a bit of volume, so I ordered "SCOTT." They are extremely comfortable, and I love that I don't have to worry too much about weather or scratches. I often wear them with denim and other casual outfits. Next, I'm considering the "ASHLEY" in dark brown suede to pair with jackets and suits.

About 10 years ago, I bought and loved the "MIAMI" model in navy calf. I wanted a similar model that would work well with casual styles, so I chose ARIMA for my By Request order. I appreciate the balance of textures and the color combination of navy buffalo and bianco dune calf, which is unusual for John Lobb. The use of the 6000 last, designed for loafers, prevents excessive volume and maintains an elegant silhouette.

These are easy to pair not only with casual denim and cotton pants but also with shorts. Imagine rolling up the sleeves of a linen shirt, wearing shorts, and adding sunglasses or a Panama hat. This resort-style coordination, inspired by Europe, is perfect for summer. I'm considering another pair of bi-color shoes, perhaps the "ASHLEY" model in Parisian x Ardilla, aiming for a colorway that can also be worn with jackets in the store.

This silhouette (derby, plain toe) is no longer offered by John Lobb, so I had wanted this model for a long time. I like its balanced shape with a semi-square toe that isn't too long, and I wear them with casual outfits like dark navy denim pants and a jacket. Next, I'm considering the "GLOSTER," a full-brogue boot in a dark brown shade.
