vol.24 "VIVA☆Ameyoko" Ameyoko Rhythm
For this installment of The★Best 7, we’re taking you somewhere a little different. It’s an area many fashion enthusiasts likely frequented in their youth, and it still brims with an exciting allure.

Ameyoko Rhythm
For 50 years, this shop has stood under the Ameyoko elevated tracks, operating as a specialist in enka music. Posters of popular enka singers adorn the walls, and the shelves are packed with cassette tapes, CDs, and DVDs, truly befitting its name as a 'general store for enka.' The tenugui hand towels are commemorative items for a song titled "Sumidagawa Bōjō," written by the shop owner and his wife, and sung by Chiaki Oka. It's said to be the shop's symbolic tune.
Cassette tapes (various), owner’s personal collection. Chiaki Oka tenugui, not for sale (Ameyoko Rhythm 03-3831-5135)
