vol.21 Longing for rain, the raincoat
Yusuke“The refreshing green of early summer was enjoyable while it lasted, but now the real rainy season has arrived. I can’t imagine having the kind of refined time where I’d gaze at the rain-soaked scenery from inside a window; the reality is that I have to dash around in the downpour. So, I’d like to acquire a raincoat that makes me look forward to rainy days, and approach the rain with a positive mindset of ‘enjoying’ it.
Choosing coats in checks, stripes, or primary colors seems like it would instantly lift your mood. Of course, a chic, solid-colored raincoat is also a must-have.
The one I’m wearing is a yellow raincoat that looks like it’s from a children’s nursery rhyme. The reason elementary school students wear hats and raincoats in this color for commuting is because it’s highly visible even in rain that impairs visibility. To get through Japan’s humid rainy season cheerfully, perhaps returning to a childlike spirit with a pop of color like this is the way to go.”
